1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to nunn.ai (the "Service"), an AI-powered teaching assistant for evidence law provided by Nunn Ventures, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") and created by Professor G. Alexander Nunn. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service at https://nunn.ai.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

  • Academic Study Aid: The Service is designed exclusively as a supplemental educational resource for students enrolled in Professor G. Alexander Nunn's Evidence and Advanced Evidence courses at Texas A&M University School of Law (and other authorized evidence scholars).
  • Not Legal Advice: Nothing generated by nunn.ai constitutes legal advice, legal representation, or an official legal opinion.
  • No Attorney–Client Relationship: Your use of the Service does not create an attorney–client relationship with Professor G. Alexander Nunn or Nunn Ventures, LLC. Always consult a licensed attorney for advice regarding any real-world legal matter.
  • Course Supplement, Not Substitute: While nunn.ai is trained on Professor Nunn's lecture slides, Socratic teaching notes, handouts, practice problems, and model exam style guides, it is a study supplement—not a substitute for class attendance, assigned readings, or your own independent legal analysis.

3. Authorized Access and Course Password

  • Limited Universe of Users: To keep nunn.ai 100% free of charge for students, access is restricted to current and former students in Professor Nunn's courses and other evidence scholars authorized by request.
  • Access Code Confidentiality: You agree not to publicly post, distribute, or share the course access password outside of the authorized student and scholar community.
  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service to provide legal advice to third parties or to draft filings for real-world litigation without independent professional verification.
  • Share, resell, or publicly redistribute the course access password or bulk-export responses from the Service.
  • Use automated bots, scrapers, crawlers, or scripts to query the Service or extract course materials.
  • Attempt to bypass authentication controls, probe system vulnerabilities, or interfere with the availability or performance of the Service.
  • Upload unlawful, infringing, malicious, or confidential third-party materials.

5. AI-Generated Outputs and Verification

  • Potential for Inaccuracies: Although nunn.ai is grounded in Professor Nunn's curated course materials and uses frontier reasoning models, artificial intelligence systems can still make mistakes, misread a hypothetical, or omit nuances.
  • Independent Verification: You are solely responsible for verifying any rule citation, case holding, or doctrinal step against your official course syllabus, assigned casebook, the Federal Rules of Evidence, and class lectures.

6. User Submissions and File Uploads

  • You retain ownership of any questions, hypotheticals, or files you submit to the Service ("User Content").
  • By submitting User Content, you represent that you have the right to do so and grant Nunn Ventures, LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that content solely as necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

  • All original course materials underlying nunn.ai—including Professor Nunn's lecture slides, Socratic notes, doctrinal ledgers, practice problems, handouts, exam style guides, software code, and visual design—are the exclusive intellectual property of Professor G. Alexander Nunn and/or Nunn Ventures, LLC.
  • Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial, academic study.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party infrastructure providers, including Google Cloud Platform and OpenRouter. Your use of the Service is subject to the availability and policies of those underlying providers.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, FREE OF CHARGE, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY ACCURATE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL NUNN VENTURES, LLC, PROFESSOR G. ALEXANDER NUNN, OR THEIR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES (INCLUDING ANY ACADEMIC, EXAM, OR PROFESSIONAL OUTCOMES) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD \$100.00).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nunn Ventures, LLC and Professor G. Alexander Nunn from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

12. Modification and Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, lock, or discontinue the Service (or update the course access password between semesters) at any time without prior notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; the "Effective Date" above reflects the latest revision.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County or Tarrant County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
